Dr. Glenn Young

Dr. Glenn Young, PastorOn Sunday, February 17, 2008 Clear Lake Baptist Church overwhelmingly agreed to call Dr. Glenn Young as its new pastor. Sunday, April 6, 2008 was Dr. Young’s first Sunday as pastor of CLBC. He brings his wife Danielle and three home schooled children, Savannah (11), Micah (8),  and Joshua (6) with him. Pastor Young is a Bay Area Charter School board member.

In 2000, Dr. Young received his Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Previously, Dr. Young was pastor of First Baptist Church in Devine, Texas for 7 years and the First Baptist Church of Youngsville, Louisiana for 8 years. He has 7 years of youth ministry experience as well.

While in Devine, Dr. Young established The Cowboy Church of Medina County and Mission Devine, a cooperative effort of local churches that served over 100 elderly and indigent home owners with repairs and renovations. He was instrumental in establishing the Community Food Pantry and instituting an Emergency Services Chaplaincy Program with local emergency departments.

Dr. Young has worked extensively in community development and poverty relief both domestically and internationally. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for C.O.S.E.C.H.A. Ministries, which works with indigenous people groups in rural Southern Mexico.

Dr. Glenn Young mentioned, “Since I was a young boy I have prayed for, and am expecting to see another Great Awakening in America….I am called and committed to genuine renewal in the American church – not a series of emotional meetings, but a transformation in how we live our lives.”

Dr. Glenn Young is determined to discover the needs of Clear Lake citizens and help Clear Lake Baptist Church fulfill those needs. He states, “Most of the residents of a metropolitan area were not born there and often have no family structure nearby. The church must provide this vital human need.”
