Music Ministry"I will sing and make music with all my soul." - Psalm 108:1Rehearsal Schedule
An Entertaining Thought...In the past, the music ministry brought to us the music, drama, and teaching of Jeff and Debbie McElroy Family Ministries; the choirs of Houston Baptist University's renowned worship teams, "Focus" and "Refuge"; Christian recording artist/worship leader, Jeff Berry; and Pianist Joseph Martin. We look forward to bringing more outstanding musical events to Clear Lake City in the future. For now, check out the opportunties you have to facilitate worship here at CLBC! The Adult ChoirThe Adult Choir leads in the worship services every Sunday morning with special music and anthems. Rehearsals are conducted every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. and child care is provided. Focusing on Christ throughout the year, we perform musicals and special pieces during Christmas and Easter to help celebrate these important holidays. The Praise and Worship TeamThe Praise and Worship Team meets at 5 p.m. on Sundays and is available to adults who wish to participate more in leading the service in contemporary praise songs. This team often joins the choir during the 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning worship service or leads worship on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. The Youth Praise BandThe Youth Praise Band performs contemporary praise and worship music each week during The Maze Youth Worship Service on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. Contact Jim Kumahata for details. Auditions are held annually. "From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise" - Psalm 8:2Preschool and Children's ChoirsSundays at 6:30 p.m., children's choirs are available for ages 3 through the 5th grade. Focusing on praise and worship, we encourage each child in their musical abilities. Through stories, games, musical instruments, activities and songs children learn biblical principals in an exciting way. The children's choirs "share" what they have learned in "Big Church" several times during the year. The 3rd-5th graders perform musicals or special programs from time to time. They also perform at nursing homes or in the community, sharing their love for Jesus with others. "Awake, harp and lyre! I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations" - Psalm 108:2-3HandbellsThe handbell choir plays Christian and seasonal music for worship services and community concerts. We have participated in workshops and handbell festivals. Concerts in the mall at Christmas time are a fun way to share music with many unchurched people. Orchestra & Brass EnsemblesThe opportunity to praise the Lord with instruments is found through the ensemble and orchestra. Instruments are used in the worship services on special occasions under the direction of the music minister. For details about handbell and ensemble rehearsal times, please contact Jeff Nelson, the Minister of Music and Administration. |
